By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Madrid, Oct. 12.
The' arrest of the Catallan Syndicate Republican agitators indicates that the Government, which is mobilising mach-ine-gunners in the provincial centres, is strongly repressing those des.irouq of subverting the regime. The prisoners include four editors and the aviator Ramon Franco, who flew over the South Atlantic iu 1926 and who is believed to be partly responsible for General de Rivera’s downfall. Many provincial trade unionists and several deputies have been arrested in Barcelona.
