COURT GRANTS INJUNCTION
COMPANY MANAGER RESTRAINED FAILED TO OBEY INSTRUCTIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Oct. 13. An injunction to restrain the former managing director of R. Arlow and Co., Ltd., from performing any acts as managing director of the company was granted in the Supreme Court this morning by Mr. Justice Adame. It was claimed that defendant’s services had been dispensed with at an extraordinary meeting of shareholders in the company and that he had failed, to obey instructions. Robert Andrew Mackay Arlow ('Wellington), company manager,- Edward John Arlow (New Plymouth), produce buyer and exporter, and Agnes Bessie Mounscy (Christchurch), widow, executrix of the will, of the late Robert Mounsey, were the plaintiffs, who were represented by Mr. Sargent. Richard Hay Fergusson .Arlow (Christchurch), merchant, the defendant, conducted his own defence.
CROQUET SEASON OPENS
NEW. PLYMOUTH CLUB, .DAY. The New Plymouth Croquet Club held its opening day on Saturday, when a large gathering of j members, their friends and visitors from other clubs was present. The president, Miss Pavitt, extended a hearty welcome to the visitors and apologised for the absence of Mrs. Morrison, who had been actively associated with the club since its inception. - ’ Miss Pavitt called, upon Mrs. Courtney to play the first ball and then If croquet began. The excellent condition of the lawns and the fine weather combined to make a very . successful function. The winners of the golf croquet were Mrs. Broad and Mrs. Gerities.
