TENNIS SEASON STARTS

OPENING OF METHODIST CLUB. The courts of the Methodist Tennis Club were officially opened for the season yesterday. The ceremony was performed by. thd Bev. T. Skuse, who complimented the committee upon the excellent condition of the courts and hoped the ensuing season would be successful. He welcomed visitors from the other clubs. On behalf of the Stratford club Mr. S. Court extended an invitation to the Methodist members to attend the opening of his club’s season. The afternoon was occupied with, a president v. vice-president match, the result being a win for the vice-presi-dent by 84 games to 56. FIRE BRIGADE COMPETITION.

The Stratford Fire Brigade held the half-yearly competition for the Aitken Cup on Thursday. . Thirteen members competed and the times of all were remarkably close. Details are: —Fireman D.
