MONTHLY MEETING BUSINESS. •iir.L' J-. The monthly meeting of the Taranaki I.tuid Board was held on V ednesday and Thursday. There were present Messrs. \V. D. Armit (chairman), S. Blake, N. R, Cleldnd, H. A. Foreman and C. J. Ryan. - The members of the board expressed their pleasure that Mr. Blake had sufficiently recuperated from his serious illpess to again take his place at the board meetings. . / Applications for 'lankt Were granted as follows Sections 44.<and 45, Aria Suburban, D J. Holme; section 9, Block 1., Eajigi, and Sub. 2 of Section 8, Block XI., Tangitu, E. H. Cole. . Grazing tenancies over Section I, Block XII., Ohura, Cameron Bros., and Sections 1 and 8,.810ck XIV., M a hoe, T. Brvdone. Three other applications _ were held over pending further investigation. Mr. S. Topless, Urenui, was appointed the board’s arbitrator in respect of the .reiifiwal of .two Education Reserve Leases and Mr.. : E.. B. Roberton-,of Tahora in respect of two further leases. An application for the extension of the term of a license was recommended and three applications by Crovvn lessees to mortgage their interests in their leases were approved. The following lessees were offered renewals of their Education Reserve leases: Sections 11 and 12, Block 11., Ngaire, N. B. Fletcher; Section 217, Moa District, W. Taylor; Sections 149 and 150, Moa District, A. Dodunski; Section 218, Moa District, P. 0. Kettlewell; Section .17-, Block ML, Ngaire,. A. Ferguson- Part Section 19, Block HL, Waibiate E. M. M. Sutherland; Section 56, Block VI., Huiroa, M. Dodunski, and Section 104, Hua and Waiwakaiho District, ( M. E., W. C„ and H. T. Gaylard. Two further applications for renewals were held over. Four applications for assistance under the provisions of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1929, were considered, of which one was deferred and three recomhiended. , £ < f Applications by Returned Soldieis ioi financlfil assistance were dealt with, two being declined and four recommended. .. Five further miscellaneous applications relating to discharged soldiers were dealt with. Thirteen applications to transler wei . considered, of which two were deferred and 11 recommended or approved. In two instances lessees were granted temporary exemption from residence on their holdings and a readjustment of mortgage charges was effected in the case of another settler. _ The question of re-offering several properties also received consideration, live cases being held over meanwhile, it bein’' decided to re-officr the undermentioned at present-day values; Sections 1 and 2 ' Block IV., Oinona, Sections o and 10, Block XVL, Ohura, Section S, Block XI., Totoro, and Section 10, Block XI., Mapara Survey District.
