Euchre-players using .10 tables were ’ present at the final evening’s play for the aggregate prizes at the Lower Mangorei school... The ladies’ prizes were won by Mrs. Jordan (1) and Mrs. Marsh . / (2). The winners-of the men’s ' prizes were Mr. C. Jordan (1) and Mr. R. Neil--son (2). The prizes for the evening’s play were won by Miss Batten and Master F. Morris. Mr. C. Jordan donated the ladies’ prize for the next euchre even-’ : ing. The committee defrided to hold three more evenings.? ■ ■' •. ' A double birthday party was held at,- ■ the residence of Mr. F. Jordan last Saturday. Friends from Hawera and New Plymouth were present to yvish Mrs. Tapps and her 5-year-old daughter many - happv returns of the day. About 20 children made merry during the afternoon. The rooms were decorated with • ; spring flowers and balloons, streamers and artificial flowers. Adult friends arrived for the evening, during which there ? were parlour games, dancing and cards. Mrs. Bennet, who b'as been ill for ■ some weeks, is recovering. Mrs. and Miss Fake have returned to to Hawera. Miss M. Hale has returned after. spending several months in the So.uth Island. ’ ' At
