WEDDINGS

BRISCOE—WELSH. The wedding took place at St. Alary’s Church, New Plymouth, on August 26, of Sarah Vera, second youngest daughter of Mr. and Airs. W. Briscoe, Barriball Street, Fitzroy, and Earnest John, son of Mr. and Airs. Welsh, Southwick, Sussex, England. The Rev. Adams was the minister. The bride, who_ was escorted by her father, was attired in a frock of ivory crepe-de-chine 1 relieved with a string of pearls. Her embroidered veil, winch was held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms, fell in graceful folds forming a_ train. She carried a bouquet of white roses and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaid, Aliss Stella Brough, eousin of the bride, wore a frock of pale pink celanese with hat and stockings to tone and black satin shoes. She carried a bouquet of pink roses and tinted foliage to tone. Little Aliss Myrtle Briscoe, niece of the bride, was flower girl ,wearing a frock of powder blue crepe-de-chine with hat and posy to match. Mr. L.-B. Tuffery was best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, where about 00 guests were entertained and the usual toasts honoured. The bride's mother received the guests attired in a black satin frock relieved with a necklace of jade beads. The couple left by car to spend their honeymoon in the south, the bride wearing a brown chenile frock with hat and slices to tone. In the evening friends were entertained at the home of the bride's parents.
