SPECIAL AIR STAMP ISSUE
NEW SERVICE FOR DOMINION. COMMENCEMENT IN FEW MONTHS By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. In anticipation of the commencement of aerial services in th© Dominion during th© next few months th© Postal Department has decided to issue a special air ©tamp. The special rate to be charged has also been fixed provisionally. The department states that it is prepared to forward correspondence offered for dispatch by air services within the Dominion on approved routes and run according to approved time-tables. For this purpose an air mail postage stamp <-f the denomination of 3d is bein tr produced. This denomination has been decided upon a© it is proposed that th© air transit eharae within New Zealand is to be 3d per ounce, in addition to the ordinary postage. The proposed charge is one-half of the Australian rate.
