All North China may be endangered by a serious outbreak of bubonic and pneumonic plague now spreading throughout the famine-stricken Shansi province. Missionary ' investigators report that the epidemic which started two months ago spread rapidly, wiping out whole villages. Panic-stricken people are fleeing from the areas most afflicted leaving piles of corpses unburied. The death roll already is heavy.
