Mr. R. Day, who has been on a holiday visit to Wellington, has returned to New Plymouth. Mr. W. H. Coltman, after spending a few days in New Plymouth, left lor Auckland yesterday. As a mark of respect to the memory of Mrs. Newton King the annual meeting of North Egmont Hostelry Ltd., which was to have been held on Wednesday evening, was adjourned. A London message reports the death of General Sir Bryan Mahon, aged 68 years. Sir Bryan saw service in Soudan and South Africa and in the Great War. He was at the Dardanelles and later commanded the Lucknow Division in India. Since 1922 he has been a Senatorof the Irish Free State.
