Referring to recent events in Palestine, Mr. Goldstein said the sympathy of the British Government with the Zionist movement was well known. Any differences which might arise between the Jews and. the Arabs would be successfully overcome through the goodwill of the British Government and the spirit of the Jewish people. The outspoken comments; against the Jews by Herr Hitler, Leader of the National Socialist Party in Germany, were referred to by Mr. Goldstein. He said it came as a shock to people that in the year 1930 such statements could come from a so-called enlightened country like Germany. It would be a terrible blow if Jews were deprived of the rights so long enjoyed and if they were discriminated against by legislation.
