PROSPECTS FOR COMING SEASON. INFORMATION UNPROCURABLE. By Telegraph.-—Press Association. Christchurch, ‘September 24. Matters relating to the dairying industry as a whole ae well as the affairs of the company itself wore discussed at the annual meeting of the shareholders of the Central Co-operative Dairy Company thia morning. “We cannot get any informationabout the prospects for the coming season,” said Mr. J. W. Kime, chairman of directors, in moving the adoption of the annual report and balance sheet. “Many of the agents and big speculators are off tho market. It looks as if the whole lot will have to be consigned. The prices will depend on the markets. I suppose you have all been studying the papers and prices and will all be more or less resigned to low prices.” The directors’ report stated that the balance sheet showed a credit of £13,085 13s 9d, which the directors recommended should bo dealt with as follows: To pay 7 per cent, dividend on subscribed capital at July 31, 1930, to ..write £1790 off buildings, machinery/ plant, etc., to make a final payment of iff per. pound on butterfat supplied during the year, which would be included with the payment for the September supply, and to pay a bonus on wages and salaries. The balance is to be carried forward. The butter manufactured in the season was 1318 tons. The—proposed final payment of Id per pound made the average price per pound of butterfat for the finest grade cream te 3.62 d.
