Dr. Elwooi Mead.,the well-known irrigation engineer, has initiated a survey of the Columbia Dam project, which, it | is estimated, will cost £60,000,0001 It will be bigger than the Colorado scheme. Dr. Mead was chairman of the State Rivers and Water Supply Commission in Victoria between 1907 and 1915. and since his return to America has been a professor at the University of ’CaV fornia.
