HEARING SET DOWN FOR OCT. 7. . / /I' 4 The New Plymouth Police Court was crowded yesterday morning, when Alexander Townsend, charged with the murder of his wife, Cora Alice Townsend, at Fitzroy on September 16, was brought before’ Mr. R. W. Tate, For the police Constable King asked for a remand till October 1. Counsel for Townsend, Mr. L. M. Moss, suggested that the. hearing might be taken on Tuesday, October 7. The magistrate said that he would remand Townsend direct to October 7 for the hearing. /'. j Mr. Moss consented to the proposal. The hearing of the charge and the inquest will be taken simultaneously.
