MORE PURCHASES MADE. On one of his periodical visits to New Zealand, Mr. S. T. Williamson, a former Aucklander, and now principal of Williamson and Company, shipowners, of Hong Kong, arrived at Auckland this week. In Sydney recently lie purchased the steamer Kamo from the Union Company and the Tay from the Australian United Steam Navigation Company. Both vessels will be put into service in Eastern waters. The Kamo is the fifth Union Company vessel bought by Mr. Williamson during the past three years. Mr. Williamson has been in business in China for the past IB years.
