GENERAL AND PERSONAL ITEMS. The weekly band euchre party was; held in the Inglewood bandroom on Monday evening when 11 tables were-.occu-pied. Prizes were won by Mrs. Bocock (I), Mrs. Bishell (2), and Mrs. Dross dowski (consolation), Mr. J. . Schilder (1), Mr. J. Hhzziff (2) and Mr. L.’Spur-> die (consolation). ■ The Inglewood Football'Club on’Monday held a social evening at .Somerton’s in honour of the ladies who, had. assisted with the social, functions during the year. Musical items were given by Miss G. Beadle, Messrs W. J. Smith, C. Evans and L. G.’Kohn, Miss B. Burke playing the accompaniments.: Mrs. Mullaney gave a whistling solo. A very enjoyable evening was spent. Mr. Wank]yn, president of the club, thanked the ladies for their assistance during, the past season. The gate takings this :year’ owin" to various; circumstances, he said-; had ’been ’ considerably lower than. in the past year, but- the proceeds from; the dance and marts had placed., the club in- a. very satisfactory financial position and the chib was therefore able to assist the younger players with their travelling expenses. Mr. Mason and Mr, L. Old were also thanked for their services during the. season. Mr. Maeon offered the use of his cars to take .the' footballers and their friends'on an ex* cursion to Mt. Egmont. Mr. Old alsq offered the use of his car. The trip is to be had on October 5.

Mr. C. L. Mullaney left Inglewood yesterday to take charge of the Taranaki Rugby team on its. tour.-.'Mr. 0. L. Kilson is relieving Mr. Mullaney during his absence. The annual, school ball will be held in the . Town Hall oh Thursday- For some, weeks under the direction-of the teachers the children hvae been pracpracti.cing folk dances. A feature of the evening will be the many and gay fancy costumes worn by the children.
