BLAZE IN WIRELESS STATION
MELBOURNE PLANT DAMAGED. NEWSPAPER’S LOSSES £20,000. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Rec. 8.35 p.m. Melbourne, Sept. 11. Fire swept the Herald broadcasting station 3DB and the editorial offices of Stead’s Review to-day. Fire also damaged the Herald’s newsprint stores and contents. The total damage is estimated at £20,000. Among the apparatus burned were two most expensive microphones and three smaller ones, as well as other broadcasting equipment.
