Samuelsons vessel Soloy, chartered by the American Trading Company, is discharging 1060 tens of sulphur at New Plymouth. She leaves today for Newcastle and Fort Fremantle to complete discharge. The vessel is new, having been built at Oslo, Norway, in 1929. She is fitted with Diesel engines, which give the vessel a speed of To to 11 knots. Tiie Soloy’s tonnage is 4402 tons. Captain Dogfin Tabiassin is in command and has with him the following officers: First, Mr. Hans. Waug; second, Mr. Erling Sonnsen; third, Mi. A. Svendsen; first engineer, Mr. C'hr. The vessel is due at Wellington, via Wanganui, on September 19 and is scheduled to clear Wellington at daybreak on September 24 for Southampton and London, via the Panama Canal. PORT PIRIE AT LONDON. Cabled news has been received by the C. and D. Line that the Port Pirie reached London on Monday. She left Wellington on July 26 for London, via Montevideo. . The vessel carried cargo from New Plymouth. PORT FREMANTLE AT LONDON. The C. and. D. Line has received cabled news that the motor-ship Port Fremantle arrived at London on September 6. She left Gisborne on August 4 for London, via the Panama Canal. The vessel carried 2000 boxes of butter, 7500 erates of cheese and 17,000 freight earcases of meat from New Plymouth. STORM-OFF OAMARU. Exceptionally heavy seas have been running along the coast of North Otago for the past three days, and the crews of ships have had an anxious time. The seas have been pounding over .the breakwater at Oamaru since the week-end (says, the New .Zealand Herald). For the second, time. the mooring ropes of the steamer Karetu carried away on Wednesday.
