SHORT SITTING YESTERDAY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The acting-L-eader of the Legislative Council, the Hon. R. Masters, to-day informed the Hoh. M. Fagan that steps were being taken to minimise'the risks taken by men engaged in blasting operations on Public Works and the question of bringing Public Works employees under the Mining Act would be considered. The Chartered Associations (protection of names and uniforms) Bill am? the Clutha River Board Empowering Bill were passed and the Council adjourned at 2.50 p.m. until 2.30 p.m. tomorrow. ’ <
