The Hauturu arrived at New Plymouth yesterday from Onehunga and will return north to-day. (Northern Co.) The Progress loads at Dunedin on Thursday for New Plymouth, where she is due on September 9, via Timaru and Wellington. She then proceeds to Port Waikato. (Hooker Bros.). The John, from southern ports, is due at New Plymouth to-day, and later leaves for Port Waikato. The Opilii left Dunedin on Wednesday for New Plymouth, via southern ports. She is duo on Wednesday. The Union Company’s Gabriella, which arrived at New Plymouth on Friday afternoon with 300 tons of coal, 15 tons of timber and 58 tons of general cargo from Australian parts, left on Saturday for Wanganui, Greymouth and Sydney. ■ lONIC’S ■ MOVEMENTS. The Shaw, Savill liner lonic was to leave Auckland on Saturday for Wellington to complete discharge of her cargo from London, and is due at Wellington to-day. The vessel is due at New Plymouth on September 12 to load meat and dairy produce. HORORATA AT SOUTHAMPTON. Cabled news has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that the Hororata.,reached Southampton on August 27. She left Wellington on July 4 for Southampton and London, via Montevideo, and carried a loading from New Plymouth. KAPONGA LOADING. The Union Company advises that the Kaponga was to leave Melbourne on Saturday for Devonport,, Edithburg, Adelaide and Melbourne to load for Auckland, Portland, New Plymouth and Wellington. . . SOLOY REPORTS. A wireless message has been received from the Norwegian steamer Soloy, en route from Galveston, reporting that she ’expects to reach Auckland on Friday. She will later proceed to New Plymouth, Newcastle and Fremantle. . NEWBY HALL SOLD. The steamer Newby Hall, 4391 tons gross, 2840 tons net, built by Messrs. Barclay, Curie and Co., Glasgow, in 1905, owned by the Ellerman Lines, Ltd., has been sold to Goulandris Bros., Ltd., London, Tor account of Geo. J. Andros, Greece, for £BB5O. INTERESTING LAUNCH. A very interesting launch took placerecently at the Hebburn Shipyard of Palmers Shipbuilding arid Iron Co., reports the Syren and Shipping. There was put into the water in the ordinary way, just as if it had been a. complete vessel, th?, new mid-ship section the firm is to fit into the Anglo-American Oil Co.’s 12,000-ton tanker Cadillac, which is due to arrive at the yard at an early date. This section is more than 300 feet in length, and weighs about 3600 tons. When the vessel has been docked she will be cut into three parts, the old midship section will be removed and scrapped, and its place, will be taken by the new section, which will include Die’ cargo holds of the ship.
