AUGUST CUSTOMS INCREASE. By Telegraph.— press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. There was an increase in the net Customs 'duties collected at Christchurch during August of £6323 as compared with those in August, 1929. The net Customs duties in August, 1930, were £110,114 ( £103,790 in Aug* ust, 1929), in January to August, 1930, £711,857 (£763,383). The beer duty in August, 1930, was £6103 (£5707), and in January to August, 1930, £57,576 (£57,852). The motor spirit tax in August, 1930, was £12,410 ( £9897) and in January to August, 1930, £94,002 ( £92,404).
