KING’S THEATRE, STRATFORD. SCREENING OF “YOUNG DESIRE.” Mary Nolan, the screen’s exotic beauty, will be seen finally to-night in “Young Desire,” Universal s poignant dialogue of the struggle of a girl for her soul. “Young Desire” is one of the most colourful pictures in which Miss Nolan has appeared. Many of. the scenes arc laid in the bizarre atmosphere of a carnival. An appealing romance runs through the picture, and the climax is a masterpiece of excitement and suspense. The great strength of Young Desire” lies in the exceptionally strong contrast of its lights and shadows. Its intense drama, is worked out against a background of supposed frivolity, of dancing girls and tinsel. Its fateful words of love and self-sacrifice are spoken amid the shouts of concessionaries and the hoarse cries of barkers. Miss Nolan is supported by a noteworthy cast in “Young Desire.” Her leading man is William Janney, who, despite liis vouth, already is duplicating on the screen the success which he scored 'on the ■ stage.
