ALLEGATION OF FORGERY

' Auckland, Last Night. ■, Jointly charged with forgery, in tire ■Police Court to-day, Josephus Fisher and Dorothy Myra Adams pleaded not guilty and were committed to,.the Supreme Court for trial. In outlining the case Chief Detective Hammond said that for several months prior to February Fisher was boarding with the other accused. . He called at the Government Labour Bureau and obtained employment by .claiming to be a (inarried man with three children, Doro,thy Adams was nan.i(?,d.. as the wife of Fisher, and..as such cashed .two- Public AVorks DepartmQpt ~money- ord.crs for £10.55. 2d.. and £1 ; 1f15... Sd., signing the orders .“Dorothy .Fisjicr Mr. Hall Skelton (for the, accused) admitted the facts, but submitted that there was no evidence of forgery. .The woman, was owed money. for board by •Fisher, who. niade orders payable to dier, using the name of, Dorothy Fisher. Adams, did.,no.t commit forgery,,as the name, she' signed ;w^s ; purely fictitious. The Magistrate, Mr. ,F. K,. . Hunt: "That’s, still, forgery. Sir, .
