ROTORUA GOLF TOURNEY
SENSATIONS IN SEMI-FINALS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Rotorua, Last Night. The Rotorua golf tournament was continued under trying weather conditions, a strong north wind driving across the couree with cold rain. In the ehampionship . semi-finals Plumley defeated Rex George 5 up and 4, the loser being severely tried by the weather and Plumley (Auckland) playing a strong and confident game. Hoeken (Maungakiekie) against Troutbeck nut up a great fight, one being the difference from the ninth hole. Hoeken secured the. lead at the 16th, losing it at the 17 th, and by missing a short putt at the 18th lost the match. In the Thermal Springs Cup Dr. Abbott beat Harrison 6 up and 5, and Goss defeated Raingcr on the 18th green after the loser had been four down with five holes to , go.. The finals will be played over 36 holes to-morrow. : :,V/ '
