Refused admittance to tho room in which the social welfare committee of the Wellington Hospital Board was holding its weekly meeting, about a hundred unemployed held a demonstration outside the public hospital this afternoon, Alembers of the board sought to reason with Hie noisy faction but they were howled down. Eventually police who had. been specially asked to ‘be in attendance, dispersed the gathering. The men are well-known to the hospital authorities who consider their requests unreasonable. The authorities state the men have been told to put their claims in writing and -approach the committee in the usual way, but this they have refused to do ou more than one occasion.
