ATMORE REPORT OPPOSED
"BLOW TO TECHNICAL EDUCATION” By Telegraph.—Press Association. • Dunedin, Aug. 27. “Tlie measures, if adopted, will De one of the biggest blows against technical education,” said Mr. Scott, chairman of the Technical College Board, when that body considered, tho Atmore report. A special committee appoint. 1 by the board reported fully on the proposals, concluding: “The more deeply the report is studied the more plainly the fact emerges that technical education presents problems too complei! to be dealt with in the simple fashion suggested. The main trend of the report seems to be. towards the elimination of technical schools from a national, system, and the administrative measure proposed, it would seem, is not designed to encourage a subsequent revival of interest in . technical education.” ' ■
