HIAWATHA CHORAL CONCERT
NICUT TRAIN FROM WKUA.NCTOS
A special night train leaving Wellington on Thursday evening and reaching New Plymouth, at 8.10 a.m. tomorrow week? has been engaged to bring members of the Royal Wellington Choral Union to New Plymouth to combine with the Choral Society in the production of Coleridge-Taylor’s “Hiawatha.” The visitors will be accorded a reception in the afternoon and the combined choirs and orchestra will rehearse in the evening under the direction of Mr. John Bishop, Wellington, who will conduct the performance on the following evening (Saturday). Most of the visitors will be billeted with members and friends of the New Plymouth Society, but the secretary has intimated that he had not yet sufficient accommodation to meet the requirements of the number coming. This and other matters will bo further considered at a meeting of the committee this week. It was reported that there had been a number of inquiries for tickets for the concert, and that there appeared to be a large amount-of intereFt aroused by the visit.
