Inspector Boulton and Inspector Jones, were shot and killed by a bandit on a Canadian National passenger train near Emo, Ontario, early on Sunday. The bandit was Emery Frennette, Port Francisont. Later he was surrounded in a farm house, shot and mortally wounded by. police. Frennette had escaped from police officers at Fort Francis on Saturday after arrest oh a minor charge. After capture he confessed to the slaying. He expressed sorrow, declaring he had lost his job and his girl and was desperate. He robbed members of the train crew but did not molest any of the passengers, many of whom were not aware of his presence. The immigration officers were 1 asleep in a smoker.
