■ THE REGENT, NEW PLYMOUTH. TWO STAR PROGRAMME FINALLY. “Parade of the West," and “Crazy That Way” will both be finally pre&ented at The Regent, New Plymouth, tonight. “Parade of the West” etars popular Ken Maynard in what can be claimed as his greatest role. “Crazy That Way” features Joan Bennett and Kenneth McKenna, and is a lauyli-a-second story about a beautiful girl and her many love affairs. A Universal Talking News reel opens the pro-o-ramme, as everyone who has seen and Tieard it have thoroughly enjoyed its entertainment qualities. Romance, beauty and colour with- a background of haunting music is descriptive of “Cameo Kirby,” Fox Movietone romantic musical drama, which heads the new programme at The Regent to-mor-row night. J. Harold ' Murray and Norma Terris,. who won outstanding success in their first film production, “Married in Hollywood," are co-starred in this offering. Irving Cummings, well remembered for his co-direction of “In Old Arizona," and his direction of numerous successes including “Behind That Curtain,” directed “Cameo Kirby.” : EVERYBODY’S TALKIES. SPECIAL MATINEE 'TO-DAY 2 P.M. “Splinters,” the new British all-talk-inw film, finally showing At Everybody’s •taTkies, New Plymouth, to-day at the matinee at 2 p.in. and to-night at 7.45 p.ni., is one of the cleverest dnd funniest that has ever been produced, and a credit to its producers, the British Dominions Film Co,, and His Master s Voice Gramophone Co. The story simply shows how the’ original war-time concert party, under the direction of Sergeant Hal Jones, first started behind the. lines in France during the Great ■War, and the film, as an insight into the real Cockney character, is a gem. Nelson Keys, so long connected with the -original company, is considered as England’s greatest talkie . asset. Sydney ' Howard, another great comedian, also wives a first-class characterisation, acting as a first-class foil to Keys. There'is an exceptionally fine supporting programme. The colourful Lake Como, European resort, and the gay theatrical centres of London provide the background for “The Careless Age,” the First NationalVitaphone picture which comes. to Everybody’s Theatre for a three-nigljt season commencing to-morrow night. Douglas Fairbanks junr., Loretta .Young and°Carmel Myers are featured in this drainatic story of the love of a young medical student for a Titian-haired actress, much his senior. The picture was adapted from John van Druten's sensational stage play “Diversion."
