EGG-LAYING COMPETITION

Following are the. results of the Taranaki egg-laying competitions to the end of the twentieth week:—

PATEA PERSONALS. Mr. Roy Campbell is visiting friends in Patea. ■ Mr. A. Ford ivas a week-end visitor to Patea. Mr. N. Glenny, Manaia, is spending a few days with his parents. Mrs. P. S. Finlayson has returned from a holiday in Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. T. Prescott have Returned to' Patea from the north. Mrs. L. A. Robinson has returned to Whangamomona.

WHAKAMARA NEWS, There was a very good attendance at the Whakamara Hall on Friday to conclude the euchre tournament. The season prizes went to Mr. A.. Wrigley (98 points) and Mrs. J. Gulliver (104 points). The runners-up were Master J. Wrigley (94 points) and Miss T. Skevington (103 points). The five-nightly prizes were won by Mr. T. Milham (37 points) and Mrs. T. Milham (354 points),-while the nightly prizes were won by Mr. T. Davies and Miss P. Barkla. Mrs, J. Gulliver received a presentation from the committee, for her services at the piano during the season. Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Christie have returned from Auckland. Master E. Candy, who has been in the Hawera hospital for some months, is beginning to improve. PERSONAL ITEMS. Mr. J. R. Corrgan is on a business trip to Wellington. Mr. L. I. Marter has returned to Hawcra after a holiday, in Wellington. Mr. Thomas Trash, Hawera,' who is on a health trip to North Auckland, is progressing favourably, ! Hawken, is an appropriate token of the suppliers’ appreciation of his services for nearly 20 years.
