COURSING AT WAITARA

WAITARA CUP FIXTURE OPENS FIRST AND SECOND ROUNDS RUN. SPORT ON BRIXTON PLUMPTON. The Waitara ’Coursing Club opened its Waitara Cup meeting on the Brixton Plumpton yesterday in perfect coursing weather. *A large number of spectators drawn from a wide area enjoyed an excellent afternoon’s sport. Though there was an unusually large number of kills, there were some particularly fine courses, and little separated some of the dogs on points. • . The president, Mr. M. Faby,.was present, and other officials at the meeting were Messrs. H. R. Soffe, P. Ward, D. Laurent, W. Soffe, J. Bristol, J. Johnson (committee), D. Telfar (slipper), P. Ward (slip steward) and W. Soffe (hare slipper). .The judge, Mr. S. M. Galbraith (Wanganui), gave every satisfaction in. his decisions, and the secretary, Mr. L. A. Jury, had his department so well organised that the preliminary rounds went off without a hitch.
