FOUR THOUSAND FOR CHARITIES.

Fairfax, chairman of directors .of John Fairfax and Sons, proprietors .of the Sydney Morning Herald, is valued at £747,937 which, subject to certain . charitable bequests, is to be equally, .divided between the testator s brothers John Hubert Fairfax, Dr. Edward W. Fairfax, his Mary Fairfax, and his, nephew, Warwick Oswald Fairfax, Testator’s’ shares, in the Sydney Morning Herald are disposed of in a similar manner. Charitable bequests include £lOOO to each of the three chief .Sydney hospitals and £5OO each to the sailors’ home and the Royal Naval House.
