PRUNING SHRUBS.
Do not allow any shrub to smother its slower-gro.wing companion. Usually when first planted, shrubs are placed too close; in such cases, lift some, so as to allow others room to grow, but in no case give over the garden to one or two coarse-growing evergreens. There are plenty of good varieties offering.
