MISHAP WHILE MOORING THE RETURN NOT AFFECTED TRANS-OCEAN PROPOSALS British Wireless. Rugby, Aug. 12. After 24 hours’ flight during which the airship visited Niagara Falls and many towns and was greeted by huge crowds, the RICO returned to St. Hubert airport, Montreal. As she approached the mooring mast the reduction gear in the starboard engine broke and the vibration of the guy wire caused a small teal’ in the fabric. This mishap will not interfere with the R 100’s return flight, and she is expected to leave for England on Wednesday.
Th'e airehip may-take a more southerly .course, and there is a prospect that after passing up the Bristol Channel she may fly over London on the way to Cardington.
i The Canadian Government has been greatly impressed by the RlOO, and imported that it may shortly consider the construction of a larger ship.
Definite plans for the early.establishment of a British-Canadian aiiship service, embracing as a possibility the construction in Canada in the near future of an Atlantic type of airship, were laid before the Premier, Mr. Bennett, on Tuesday by Sir Dennistoun Burney, who described the interview as most satisfactory, indicating that ho was in a position to discuss the matter with the British Government.
