CONFIRMATION AT ST. MARY’S
BISHOP OK WELLINGTON’S VISIT. The Bishop of Wellington, the Right Rev. T. IL Sprott, D.D., acting Primate, held a second confirmation at St. Mary’s, New Plymouth, last night, when G 1 girls and three boys from the parishes of St. Mary, Holy Trinity and Waitara received the Laying-on-of-Hands. A very large congregation filled the church and listened with attention to the bishop’s words. St. Mary’s choir was under the direction of Mr. R. N. Renaud. The bishop’s address to the candidates was based on the opening verse of the third chapter of St. John’s first Epistle. Clearly he worked out the obligations •of the Christian to God, and gave simply ’ sound practical advice concerning Christian duty. Ills explanation of the connection between thought, word and deed
should long remain in the minds of his hearers.
