DAMAGED BY BLASTING
TOWN HALL REPORTED UNSAFE. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Sydney, August 13. The town clerk of Layton stated that something should be done to recondition the Town Hall, as he feared an accident. The building had been damaged as a result of recent adjacent blasting. The roof of the porte-cochere (carriage entrance) is in such a condition that in wet weather rain simply poured through, and huge cracks had developed in other parts of the building.
