DOMINION LEAGUE TOUR

VICTORY IN FINAL MATCH CONVINCING STYLE RECENTLY. TEAM CONSIDERED UNLUCKY. By Telegraph—Presi Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 10.50 p.m. Sydney, Aug. 13. The New Zealand League team played its last match of the Australian tour to-day when it defeated an Australian Universities team, which comprised four Queenslanders. Play in the first half favoured the New Zealanders, the spell ending with the visitors leading by 8 to 2. The New Zealanders prevailed for the greater portion of the second half, but just before the finish Universities scored two tries and two goals. The game ended in victory for the New Zealanders by 18 points to 12. Varsity missed several chances through faulty passing. The Queenslander Broadfoot broke his collarbone. The beet players for the winners were Calder, Stephenson, Clark, Amors, Abbott, Seagar and Dufty. Varsity received 19 free-kicks and New Zealand four. The visitors were the guests at a varsity ball to-night. They will sail on Friday. The general opinion is that the team was very unlucky but completed its itinerary, winning the last three matches in fairly convincing style.
