LINER IN THREE SECTIONS
PROVISION FOR ROUGH SEAS GIANT CUNARDER LIKE WARSHIP. EXPERIMENTS NOW BEING MADE. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 9.4'5 p.m. London, Aug. 12. If present experiments are successful, says the Daily Mail, the giant Cunard liner being built will consist of three sections, each of which can move independently, in order that in rough weather the bows and stern can rise on the crest of rollers while midships sags into the trough,- thus minimising the danger of the liner breaking her back in heavy seas. Provision will be made for carrying quick-firing guns. The hull is being built on the lines of a warship with watertight compartments as a protection against the effects of gun attacks.
