APPOINTMENT OF REFEREES. Referees for Saturday’s northern division Ilngby matches were appointed last night. Next Monday wll be the last meeting of the northern division this season and a full muster has been requested. Saturday’s fixtures are: — L• . Seniors. Okato v. Star, at. Okato, Mr, E. Gilmour. School, at School, 3 p.m., Mr. . Hoffman. Fourth Grade. School A v. School B to be arranged. Star v. Tukapa, at Racecourse No. 4, ■ 3 p.m., Mr. Eggleton. REPRESENTATIVE RUGBY. .. TARANAKI V. NORTH AUCKLAND. Keen interest is being taken throughout Taranaki in the meeting of Taranaki and North Auckland which takes place at Stratford to-morrow afternoon. On their last appearance in Taranaki the men from the north gave a very pleasing display of Rugby. The team that arrived in Stratford last night created a favourable impression. The Taranaki team as the result of the two games together should combine well. It showed against Waikato and Auckland that it is a strong fifteen. The match will start at 2.30 p.m. and as it takes place on an afternoon that is not the customary weekly half-holi-day Stratford business people have been asked to close their premises for a couple of hours in the afternoon.

Mr. J. S. King has been appointed referee. The curtain raiser to the big match will be the first semi-final in the first junior competition. The clubs represented are Stratford and City (Hawera). The Stratford team is: L. Collins, F. Collins. Blackmore, Watson, T. Collins, B. Collins, Johnson, D. Collins, D.
