REDUCED SALARY
VICTORIAN POLICE CHIEF? Tho Victorian Ministry has decided;? not to reappoint General T. A. Blarney ? as Chief Commissioner of the Policft; ' Force at his present salary. When hi* : term of appointment expires next month applications will be called for appointment to the position at a salary less by £5OO a year than now paid to General Blarney. The position will now carry a salary of £1250 a year, including all allowances,'and the appointment will be for three years. General Blarney was appointed for five years, and in addition to a salary of £l5OO a year, he received an of £250 a year. The decision, which is understood has been prompted by it, desire for economy, has been communicated to General Blarney.
