(kj The Daily Mail's correspondent Aljjfl Nairobi . sul at Tanga, has issued - an , official statement.'regarding the goose-stepping when 30 sailors from the cruiser Karlsruhe were ordered to march past a hotel because the ship’s officers thought the ceremonial would please- their Ger* man hosts. He was surprised when the Provincial Commissioner ordered -the closing of the hotel bar on the ground that the march past was a military display which could be regarded as\a form of propaganda among the natives. Herr Speiser called on the .Commissioner next morning and explained that no military display was in any way intended. The explanation was accepted.
