BASKETBALL
RESULTS IN COMPETITIONS, . WAITARA WINS SCHOOL FINAL. Basketball competitions were continued in North Taranaki on Saturday. Details are:— Sacret Heart Blues defeated Sacred Heart Reds, 23 to 17. Sacred Heart Reds drew with Baptists, 19 all. The match between Eltham, winners in the south, and Waitara, winners in the north, for the provincial primary schools basketball championship was won. by Waitara. The game was played on the Stratford school grounds. After a splendid exhibition in which the quick, accurate passing of the Waitara girls was the deciding factor, Waitara won by 10 goals to nil. Waitara thus holds the Rugby Union shield. Miss U. Lile, Inglewood, was the referee. After the match both teams were entertained by Miss Ritchie, and the Stratford school girls at morning tea.
