ENGLAND TO AUSTRALIA
EOUR-DAY TRIPS VISUALISED. London, July 30. British long-distance fliers are considering the possibility of a non-stop flight to Australia, says the aeronautical correspondent of the Evening News. A Fairey-Napier long-distance monoplane, such as was used by the late Squadron-Leader Jones-Williams in his 50-hour non-stop flight to India, could reach Australia with one refuelling over India. A Puss-Moth, which has a range of 4000 miles, could manage with refueilings at Basra and Singapore. Such a flight would bring Australia within four days at the longest. Two pilots, working alternately, would be needed. Providing for the refuelling of the aircraft vould be much simpler than laying fuel at dumps in inaccessible spots.
