TROUBLE IN THE NORTH WEST TRIBESMEN AGAIN ACTIVE By Telegraph—Press Aesn. —Copyright. Rec. 7.30. p.m. Delhi, Aug. 7> It is expected there will be a deficit of nearly £770,000 in the revenues of the Bombay Presidency owing to the. civil disobedience campaign. The Government has sustained heavy losses on the excise and forest depart-. ments, the former being due to reduced sales throughout the country of liquor owing to picketing by Congress agitators. Attempts to induce the people not to pay laud tax have not been very successful. Afridi tribesmen are again giving trouble on the North-west Frontier, armed bands moving down unfrequented, passes for attacks on Peshawar. ; Ths tribal elders tried to restrain the young hostile elements who are now seeking to enlist the co-operation of. the Orakzai tribe.
