DARING COUP BY BANDITS
RAID IN CROWDED PICCADILLY.
By Telegraph—Press Assn-—Copyright. Rec. 7.30 pan. London, Aug. 7. A daring coup was carried out. by motor bandits in Piccadilly, at the height of the luncheon hour crush. Two men drove up to a jeweller’s, smashed the window with a sledge hammer and escaped with thousands of pounds worth of jewellery. When assistants went to rush out of the shop they found the door securely roped. Meanwhile the car was- driven off speedily, scattering the crowds, and was lost in the traffic.
