RELATIONS WITH ROUMANIA
TRADE •AGREEMENT SIGNEDBritish Wireless. Rugby,’August .6. The treaty of commerce and navigation between the United Kingdom and; Roumania which was signed at the, Foreign Office in London this afternoon' will . not come formally info force until ratifications have been'exchanged, but letters were.exchanged on. signature between Mr. William Graham, president of the Board of Trader and Monsieur Tilea; head of the Roumanian delegation, in which it was agreed to bring the treaty provisionally into force to-morrow, pending (he exchange of .ratifications which will take some time to complete. Otherwise British goods would have become liable to the duties of the Roumanian general tariff on September I. By this treaty each party accords to the ships and subjects of- the other the most favoured nation treatment in all matters relating to commerce, navigation and industry, the carrying on of business and the exercise of professions or occupations. Other provisions of the treaty, which is designed to prepare the way in all respects for closer commercial relations between the two countries, include one authorising the appointment of consuls. . • , There are also articles for the protection ref rights in invent’.ons, trade marks and I designs and for the prevention of fals® trade marks and descriptions.
