DAVIS CUP COMPETITION
REVISION OF RULES PROPOSED. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. New York, August 5. Drastic changes in the policy of the Davis Cup competition are under consideration, as indicated by American tennis officials. Mr. Louis Bailey, president of the United States Lawn Tennis Association, said he would advocate that next year’s quest of the cup should be undertaken without the long months of arduous preparation now involved. Mr. Joseph Wear, chairman of the Davis Cup committee, said that when at last the United States succeeded in recovering the trophy he favoured holding the competition every two years instead of annually.
