AUSTRALIAN WHEAT CROP
RECORD HARVEST EXPECTED. By Telegraph.— Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Mr. F. A. Crago, a Sydney flourmiller, who arrived by.the Ulimaroa, says the wheat crop prospects in Australia are the best on record. This will help the country a little, but while the quantity of the crop and its quality should be satisfactory, the price may not be, as cheering in view of the big Canadian, United States and Argentine crops. The 2% per cent, tax imposed by the Scullin Government on wholesale sales as from August 1 is expected to have a bad effect, and in Mr. Crago’s opinion is certain to add to unemployment, but its effect will not be noticeable for > few weeks.
