IMPROVED WEATHER LIKELY.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather will improve in the western districts from Taranaki southwards, elsewhere it will be cold, equally and showery with snow on the high country. The cyclone is now centred, south of Chatham Island and is very intense. A moderate anti-cyclone is advancing over the Tasman Sea but the- pressure is again falling ove.S eastern Australia. Winds will be south-west to southerly and strong to gale force. Seas will be rough generally.
