DEMAND FOR SEATS AT TEST

mo SOLD IN LESS THAN HOUR. By Telegraph.—Pteae Association. Wellington, Aug. 0. That public interest in the fourth and final Rugby test match between the British and New Zealand teams is extraordinarily keen was illustrated yesterday when the 8000 additional seats which were advertised for sale at various depots in the city and suburbs were sold in under an hour. Each depot—there were ten, including two at Petone and one at Lower. Hutt—was allowed about 400 tickets, and they were priced at 5s Gd each. In every instance there were people waiting at 9 a.m. and before 10 o’clock the available supplies had been sold, much to the disappointment of hundreds of people who expected to bo able to buy a ticket during the morning- , Some of the disappointed ones who possessed motor-cars, having heard that there were tickets to be purchased at the Hutt and Petone, did good time over the long bitumen track, only to find the suburban quota of tickets all disposed of as quickly as the city supplies. . A number of enthusiasts, however, are not troubling greatly about seats. When tlie fateful day arrives they intend to simply stroll up early to Athletic Park and take their chance of getting a seat, or standing room at least. "I don’t intend to pay any fancy price,” remarked a middle-aged woman yesterday. “I intend to be at Athletic Park at 8 o’clock on Saturday morning, and I will see the test match all right.”
