BRIXTON CRICKET CLUB
PRESENTATION OF PRIZES. Cricketers from the Brixton Club foregathered at a function held last night in the Huirangi hall, when prizes won during the season were presented. The effectively decorated hall wac filled with a large crowd and dancing to the music of Martin’s orchestra was enjoyed. The presentations, which were received enthusiastically, were made by Messrs. McCaull, Andrews and Johnston. The trophies were: — Cricket bat engraved with silver plate, donated by Mr. E. Andrews for the highest batting average, won by L. Jury. Gold medal donated by Mr. W. McCaull for the greatest number of catches, won by A. Giddy. Silver medal donated by Mr. W. Johnston for conscientious, work for the Brixton Club, won by J. Long-staff. The men’s committee consisted of Messrs.’ E. Andrews, L. Jury, F. Green, A. Sutton, /. Giddy, W. McCaull (chairman), and W. Johnston (hon. secretary). A ladies’ committee provided supper. The members were Mesdaines W. McCaull, A. Aitken,' W. Watson, Higgens, E. Andrews, C. Hall, Misses Andrews (3), Sutton (2), Dring (2), Muir (2), and Higgens. The masters of ceremonies were Messrs. A. Aitken, L. Jury and E. Andrews, and others who assisted included Mesisrs. L. Jury and F. V. Andre we.
